We are seeking a Co-Occurring Therapist to join our team at our program in Norfolk, VA supporting Norfolk County for the Tidewater Region.Earn $30.30 an hour.This position involves consulting with Psychiatrists and Primary Care Physicians to determine treatment for individuals with co-occurring disorders. You will work with registered nurses to assess physical health, refer to community physicians, and coordinate medical, psychiatric, and substance abuse treatment. Providing support, counseling, and education to team members, individuals, and families about substance abuse disorders is essential. The role also includes submitting reports, offering testimony, and presenting opinions in legal proceedings. Attendance at staff and treatment planning meetings is required to assess patients and assist with staff training.Under the ACT team leader's direction, you will coordinate and implement co-occurring and recovery-based services, offer clinical insight to staff, and share team responsibilities. You will assist the Team Leader with productivity, billing, team supervision, and on-call duties. Merakey welcomes all Veterans to apply!The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other human service-related field.* Licensed as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in Virginia.* 1-2 years of direct care experience in mental health, with experience in co-occurring issues. Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and a recovery-driven service system.* Valid Driver's License and appropriate state and federal clearances.
