Responsibilities You will troubleshoot NMCI network, system, and application issues to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems. You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. You will report, plan, and coordinate projects to meet future needs. You will ensure and manage system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, integrity, efficiency, and recoverability. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Basic Requirements: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network and/or systems; 2) Demonstrating excellent communication, interpersonal, project management, and governance skills; 3) Problem solving, analyzing, and resolving conflict when working with a variety of departments and shareholders who may have different goals for a project; and 4) Managing or assisting in the management of Information Technology(IT) teams or employees. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451, in which the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area Information Technology and category II assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
