Glass fabrication is an awesome craft to learn. You will learn how glass moves through our plant and how to safely handle glass while maintaining an effective pace. Our plant is packed with employees and machinery that make amazing products from shower doors, deck railings, bullet resistant glass, and more!
Position glass in machinery or on tables for hand tool useLoad and unload glass manually or utilize lifting cranes, harp carts, and a-frames for safe movement of glassInspect glass to carry out our high-quality standardCommunicate with other employees throughout the day as well as following through with shift employee expectationsMonitor glass moving through equipment to ensure glass is moving promptlyUtilize bar code readers, calipers, tape measure, and other tools to ensure quality standards and identify any defectsOther duties as assignedRequirements:
Employees at OBE are expected to have regular and predictable attendance, work independently with little direct supervision, aptitude to learn and understand and willingness to cross-train in other areas as required.
Lift up to 75 poundsAbility to lift, bend, twist, walk, and reach frequentlyAbility to stand and walk on concrete floor for eight hours or moreAbility to wear company-issued PPE such as safety shirt, hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protectionNoise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.Ability to work in varied temperaturesMust be at least 18 years old
