Time Commitment : 2-4 hours per eventCompensation : $75-$100 per hourThe Organization:Lighthouse Foundation of Chicagoland is a Black LGBTQ+ led, multiracial social justice organization that advances justice for Black LGBTQ+ people across Chicagoland through empowerment, education, and entertainment. Since July 2019, Lighthouse Foundation has launched the nation’s first Black Queer Equity index, partnered with 24 organizations, and hosted 87 activations with 3,700 Chicagoans.The RoleThe Licensed Mental Health Contractor will report to the Senior Manager of Operations and will oversee the mental health support services at Lighthouse Foundation events. This position is responsible for attending to pertinent mental health needs of Lighthouse Foundation event attendees, as well as providing linkage to care when necessary. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing mental health services to Black Queer people, as well as marginalized and intersectional communities, de-escalation, and on the ground mental health provision.ResponsibilitiesMental Health SupportProvide mental health triage services at Lighthouse Foundation eventsUtilize de-escalation at Lighthouse Foundation events when necessaryConsult on best practices to support the mental health of Lighthouse Foundation event attendeesJob QualificationsRequiredMaster’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Counselor Education, Clinical Psychology or related fieldLicensure as a mental health therapist, social worker, or psychologistTraining or certification in working with diverse and intersectional communitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferredExperience with de-escalationExperience with chronic or serious mental health conditionsExperience with trauma-informed care
