Job Summary:

As the buyer you will work with vendors to negotiate pricing and lead times for our manufacturing operations. Purchasing manufactured components to meet demands while maintaining lean practices. Acts as a liaison between supplier and receiving.

Primary Responsibilities/RequirementsWork with our suppliers, who are experts in their respective industry, on how to provide extra value to Sewer Equipment without compromising part integrity.Manage daily purchase requisitions and production requests.Determine if proper processes are in place to ensure current print revision and pricing is utilized on all purchase orders.Attending daily meetings to update team on any potential issues and monitor the demand to ensure replenishment of the necessary parts to not disrupt sales.Monitor all orders to determine if a supply issue may arise and be proactive with contacting alternative sources to prevent the part outage.Work with suppliers on rejected parts to determine the best path forward with existing parts and corrective actions to prevent the issue from reoccurring and any restitution that may be necessary based on the quality issues.Conduct vendor visits to maintain a healthy relationship with our partners and openly discuss issues and resolutions.Maintain vendor score cards.Some travel may be required for vendor visits. Full-Time Role Based in Dixon, IL (not remote work)Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pmBenefits Include:

Base salary starting at $75,000 - $80,000/year, depending on experienceProductivity bonus, paid quarterly. Average 2023 annual payout was $12,000. Required Skills/Abilities:

6+ years Purchasing experience in a wholesale or manufacturing environment preferred.Bachelor's degree preferredProficiency in common office O365 programs.Detail orientedStrong communicationMust be able to multi-task and prioritize as neededExperience with negotiating favorable pricingAbility to perform cost analysesPhysical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
