Tesla's Software Platforms team provides the foundation on which the in-vehicle user experience is built. We build the Software Platform (kernel, bootchain, drivers, and lower level userspace platform services) for our innovative Infotainment hardware. This includes high resolution touch displays, high-definition audio, Bluetooth/WIFI/cellular connectivity, USB, cameras, all connected to high performance multi-core processors and GPUs. Our software is based on Linux, GNU toolchain, buildroot, and other open-source projects, delivering the security, capability, and performance demanded by our user experience. As part of this team, you would be focused on the graphics stack for existing and next generation Infotainment products.
Responsibilities
Profile and optimize the graphics framework used by Application DevelopersIdentify and execute on opportunities to improve stability and performance within the graphic stackUse existing available hardware in innovative ways to solve problemsIntegrate software components into a fully functional software systemWrite well structured, testable, efficient, and maintainable codeBuild and deploy software tools, processes and metricsBoard bringup and hardware design validationRequirements
Significant software/firmware development experience in productionSignificant Embedded Linux experience in productionExcellent C/C++ coding skillsStrong Linux Kernel fundamentalsExperience with Linux graphics technologies (X, wayland, mesa3d, dri/drm drivers)Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experienceContributions to the Linux Kernel or other open source projects, preferredExperience with RTOS or bare-metal embedded development, preferredExperience with Graphics APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL, EGL), preferredCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits
