Behavior Tutor
Assist certified staff in implementing tiered behavior supports to affect students positively. Work closely and collaboratively with mental health staff and administration to support social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
Essential Functions
The job description is illustrative and not a complete itemization of all duties and responsibilities.Assist classroom teachers with classroom behavior management, including behavior intervention, de-escalation, and re-engagement.Communicate with the teacher to determine the steps to restore, teach, and re-engage the student in their academic work.Support and promote students' positive behaviors at all times and support students in making healthy, safe choices.Assist with recess, supervision, restroom breaks, emergency drills, assemblies, field trips, etc.De-escalate students and situations utilizing positive behavior supportsModel and reinforce social skills and emotional regulation skillsProvide assistance to the classroom teacher, special education teacher, or related servicesCollect academic and behavioral dataInteract positively with staff and studentsMaintain the strictest confidence concerning personnel, students, and operational concernsPromote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversationReport all cases of suspected child abuse to appropriate school personnel and proper government authorityPerform other duties as assigned by certified staff, Principal, and/or other AdministratorsSupervisory Requirements
NoneEducation & Experience
Bachelors degree requiredExperience working with children or in a school settingExperience and education in social, emotional, and behavioral supports
Compensation - $25-$30/hour taking into consideration education, experiences, and skills
