Job Description:Our client located in the Springfield, MA area has an immediate opening for a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of system administration, architectural design and ongoing maintenance of a large Red Hat Linux deployment residing on public and private cloud, as well as physical and virtual systems. The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer shall be comfortable working in a team environment and excel in collaborative problem solving. The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer shall be experienced in the art of system administration, organized with an attention to detail, and above all, enthusiastic about the endless possibilities technology has to offer. The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers dedicated to the reliable operation of Enterprise services, and his/her contributions will ensure that the organization accelerates its adoption of cloud technologies by identifying potential migration opportunities. On a daily basis, you will be responsible forthe defense of our IT systems by maintaining secure configurations, evaluating vulnerabilities, and ensuringthe environment is up-to-date. You will use your experience to help others in the organization get the mostout of our server deployments.

Responsibilities

Deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of Red Hat Enterprise Linux server systems utilizingAnsible, Python, BASH, etc.Monitor server performance and take appropriate actions (e.g. tune)Perform operating system upgrades and assuring the quality of fixes and enhancementsAssist IT departments in analyzing and resolving operating system and application problemsTroubleshoot operational issues and assist with root-cause analysesEngage with policy and procedure, change management, and service desk processes during daily activitiesProvide technical knowledge needed to ensure effective and efficient changes to the IT infrastructureAssist with product evaluations, architectural reviews and solution development for new capabilitiesRequired

Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Information Systems, a similar engineering field orequivalent experience is requiredRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) preferredDeep understanding of Unix operating system including system boot process, kernel configuration, account management, file system permissions, and network configurationsConfiguration and management experience with Kubernetes deployments and container operationsMust have experience with automation solutions such as Ansible Core, Ansible Tower, and TerraformMust have experience with utilizing Git source code controlMust have experience with DevOps methodologies, including utilizing GitOps to manage infrastructureMust have excellent time management and communication skills; strong interpersonal and mentoring skills, as well as strong team orientation and communicationMinimum of 10 years related experience OR the equivalent combination of experience and educationPreferred
