Job Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a

Ribbon UC/SBC Integration Engineer to perform as part of an integrated project team (IPT) to design, integrate, and implement a hybrid cloud UC solution for DOD customers. The Engineer provides expertise in the integration of Ribbon AS (Application Server) Session controllers with Ribbon/Sonus SBCs. The SBCs act as PSTN gateways for both Ribbon AS and Microsoft Teams environments. This person works closely with team network engineers, Network Operations Center technicians, network security engineers, and various other groups within the program.

During the Design Phase, the Engineer will review and analyze the Architecture and Design provided by the UC Architect team, assist with developing Detailed Design and Testing documentation, and is responsible for testing in the Lab environment. During the Integration Phase, the Engineer will work to stage the equipment and install it at the Data Centers, perform the user onboarding and user troubleshooting process, and work with engineers at the Customer locations to assist with integration required for local devices as needed to work with Ribbon AS or Teams. The Engineer will work to ensure that the Site Readiness and Cutover milestones are met. They further schedule and coordinate lifecycle configuration changes and service patches.

Responsibilities:

Hands-on experience in administration of Enterprise grade Ribbon/Sonus SBCs and Teams.Mid to senior level knowledge to handle troubleshooting of complex PSTN issues involving Ribbon/Sonus SBCs.Fault isolate software and hardware issues for VoIP and network-based systems integrated with Teams to determine root cause and corrective actionProvide high-level advice and direction for the integration of legacy voice systems with cloud and hardware-based VoIP solutionsCreate documentation for the integration, installation, and implementation of VoIP servicesPerform tuning tasks associated with VoIP and Network infrastructure ensuring Teams reliability in a local and wide area environmentProvide expertise in voice QOS, Network Monitoring and Management solutions relating to Teams and SBC trafficProvide expertise in upgrading and replacing legacy PBXs with VoIP solutionsProvide expertise in the integration of network devices including switches, routers, voice gateways, and session border controllers.Lead the planning of incremental improvements, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise voice networkSetup, Configuration, and support of SIP and TDM trunks and clientsProvide Project Management for site upgrades, local and remote system installationsMonitor and analyze applications data and voice network traffic to characterize performance and predict impacts due to network changesProvide communications technology consulting expertiseSupport the design, test, and integration initiatives for US DOD services.Perform specific site and core system tests including installation tests, deployment tests, functional tests, production release tests, and finally, acceptance testing for customer signoffOther duties as requiredRequired:

6+ years of industry experience in large-scale UC and network transformation architecture2+ years’ experience as a primary resource in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of Ribbon SBC solutions, or 5 years of similar experience with other SBCs.Expert in the integration of VoIP and legacy voice services with Microsoft TeamsExperience configuring network devices such as switches, routers, voice gateways, and session border controllersKnowledge of SIP signaling related to Next Gen 9-1-1 call deliveryKnowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, MPLS, and general network theory requiredBachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experienceOptional: 1+ years’ experience as a primary resource in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of Ribbon AS session controller solutions, or 3 years of similar experience with similar systems such as Nortel CS1000, AS 5300, or CS2100.
