Fred Finch TBS behavior "coaches" work intensively with a participant in their home or in the community. The program requests authorization to provide services up to 20 hours a week. The needs of each participant guide the length and intensity of the program services they receive. The TBS coach designs, structures, models, and supports one-to-one interventions to modify target behaviors of concern or teach appropriate alternative behaviors, so that children and their family members or caregivers can live independently.

To sustain participants' improvements after TBS concludes, staff develops transition plans to help each child and their caregivers.

What You Will Do

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing high quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services and care coordination to a diverse population of at-risk youth or young adults experiencing mental health symptoms, and their families. These developmentally appropriate, individualized services occur in residential and community locations including homes, schools, program offices, psychiatric emergency settings, clinics, crisis residential programs, and/or shelters.

Work ScheduleFull Time Exempt - Monday - Friday

Salary Range

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $33.03 and $53.80 per hour, payable bi-weekly. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Certain positions are eligible for a 9% language differential.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):

Following a sampling of the requirements for the position, for the full scope of duties and responsibilities please read the full job description.M.A. Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university.Registered associate (AMFT or ACSW, or APCC with relevant experience with target population) with the Board of Behavioral Some programs may consider candidates who are able to obtain registered status within the first six (6) months after hire. (If working in a program licensed by Community Care Licensing must meet minimum training and experience requirements - for more information please see http://www.cdss.ca.gov/cdssweb/entres/pdf/CCR/STRTP_ILS.pdf )Certified to conduct a CANS/ANSA assessment within 90 days of employment if CANS/ANSA utilized by program.Supervised experience in providing counseling and/or psychotherapyDemonstrated knowledge in the areas of diagnostic assessment, individual/family/group behavioral treatment methods for target population of program.Experience with or knowledge of designing, supervising, monitoring, changing, and discontinuing individualized behavioral interventions for staff delivering behavioral services (e.g., TBS).Demonstrated knowledge of risk assessment, including danger to self or others, and effective community-based interventions for those with high risk.Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.Clean driving record: current CA Driver's License or ability to obtain within 10 days after hire.Must have access to dependable transportation; personal car insurance meeting minimum liability coverage required if position requires driving for work or transporting participant.Preferred

License (LCSW or MFT or LPCC )
