Seasoned Apache and NginX engineer needed for a short term project to evaluate and modernize several applications
Responsibilities:
Evaluate current performance of Apache & NginX applications and advise on steps to improve performance.Review opportunities to modernize the Apache and NginX platforms as implemented.Perform analysis of update & version dependencies required for modernization and performance improvements.Ensure patching and security updates are properly implemented. Develop recommendation if not.Requirements or Required Skills/Abilities:
Apache & NginX performance tuning experienceStrong troubleshooting skills utilizing log analysis, application performance management (APM), and real user monitoring (RUM)Demonstrable preference for approaching work via automationExperience providing hands-on monitoring as well as authoring monitoring and alerting using multiple toolsetsPractice of documenting findings, providing evidenceExperience writing standard operating proceduresDemonstrable experience with production operations issue management and responseCollaborate with internal support and engineering teams and 3rd party vendors on problems and solutionsStrong organizational skillset and ability to track multiple issues to resolutionHistory of acting as a subject matter expert and training peers and stakeholdersExperience in a professional production settingDeployment and release management experienceGood skill with querying SQL and one or more noSQL databasesProficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Go, etc)Self-motivated and collaborativeGood communication skills
