Our Mixed Reality Platform Team is seeking a
Senior Software Engineer
to help build a high-performance multi-process platform. In this role, you will work alongside talented engineers, share knowledge, contribute to innovative projects, and collaborate with partner teams both inside and outside the company to shape the next-generation Windows experience in Mixed Reality.

This position is remote-eligible within the U.S., with a preference for the Greater Seattle area for occasional on-site collaboration involving Mixed Reality technology at our main campus in Redmond.

Responsibilities
Working in close partnership with a team of diverse and talented peers in various disciplines including Design, hardware, Program Management, and Software Development for sustained long term success
Partnering with your peers and technical leadership to deliver solid technical designs
Maintaining an unwavering focus on our customers and the value you can deliver to them
Closely collaborating with partner teams when engineering & business dependencies exist
Owning accurate costing for your engineering activities, and executing with high accountability to schedule and quality
Working on all aspects of Software Development including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, documentation, and delivery
Mentoring other developers and sharing expertise throughout our team
You are expected to be a self-starter, capable of solving ambiguous and challenging technical problems with wide scope
You will have the opportunity to work with new technologies on a diverse range of cutting-edge hardware platforms

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of relevant professional software development experience
building
system
or
lower
-
level
software
with C++
2+ years of experience in
writing performance-critical code
,
performance analysis
,
and optimization
Other Requirements
Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
