ABOUT THE TEAM
You will be an integral part of a team responsible for developing next-generation in-vehicle user experiences for future Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The experiences are built on and demonstrate new user value powered by Arene, Woven Planet's flagship programmable automotive software system that integrates on-vehicle OS and data collection services with the cloud.
This team will deliver concept hardware and software solutions driven by high-quality UX research that defines an end-to-end product definition for Toyota's next-generation vehicles. This concept work will produce a full-stack solution starting with the digital services, the programmable software system, and the underlying compute and electrical architecture of the vehicle.
This team represents the cutting edge of software and hardware development at Toyota. Your work will marry the speed and agility of Silicon Valley software development with the standards of functional safety, craftsmanship, and time-tested quality of Toyota products in a fast-paced and collaborative prototyping environment.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
As a member of the Arene Advanced Development team, you will work on developing applications for a modern vehicle operating system and platform, focusing on advanced sensors, visual displays and intelligent software for next generation vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We design, develop and deploy software that delivers new and novel end-user experiences in the automotive and mobility spacesWe provide solutions and software deliverables to support new sensors, hardware and user interfaces for automotive productsIdentify technical solutions and create development plans for complex features that utilize cutting edge technologiesDevelop applications and software for both x86 and aarch64 system architecturesParticipate in discussions about technical issues, design choices, and decision makingMaintain and support software operations for a variety of automotive platformsAnalysis of requirements, architecture, design, development, code review, quality assurance and deployment, the entire software engineering life cycleWork closely with team members with different skill sets and expertise (designers, researchers), other teams, and external partners.QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of experience and a B.S., M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldStrong C++ and Python programming skillsPassionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to a productGood team player with great communication skills (making presentations)Experience in software development for automotive applicationsMulti-threaded, multi-core and multi-system programmingSoftware development for systems utilizing live sensor inputs (cameras, etc)Software development for ML/AI-enabled applications is a plusSoftware development for User Interfaces (IVI, IC) is a plusSoftware development for User Interfaces (IVI, IC) is a plusSoftware development on embedded systems is a plusExperience with communications protocols such as CAN, Some/IP, DDS or similar is a plusExperience with mobile or web back-end development in any language is a plus
$140,000- $230,000 a year
Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The California pay scale for this full time position is $140,000- $230,000. The total compensation offered to an employee will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
