Data Engineer

S&P Global Market Intelligence, Inc. seeks a Data Engineer in New York, NY who will implement and maintain services and tools to support existing data feeds. Build new data acquisition and transformation pipelines using Big Data and cloud technologies. Port existing data pipelines to make data available internally. Work with the broader technology team to align pipelines as part of an Agile environment. Maintaining and developing software in production utilizing cloud-based tooling and proficiency in development environments, unit testing tools and defect management tools. Drive adoption and standardization of data governance, lineage, cataloging, and stewardship practices across technical teams. Contribute to the data infrastructure that supports our applications incrementally and securely. Engineer software and data components and common services based on standard corporate development models, languages and tools. Ensure the applications of software engineering best practices across the team and leverage automation across all elements of solution delivery. Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, applying experience of documenting and demonstrating technical solutions through the development of documentation, diagrams, and code comments. * Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related IT field plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 4 years of experience must include: Developing Big Data platforms using Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark; utilizing SQL, including advanced SQL coding, for relational database design and data warehousing; and experience with DevOps and Integrated Development Environments, including utilizing database servers, GIT, unit testing tools and defect management tools, to facilitate Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). 1 year of experience must include: Utilizing AWS platform to develop and implement data pipelines using EMR, Lambda, S3 and EC2 at scale; and GIT operations and CI/CD process.The anticipated base salary range for this position is $158,100 to $170,400. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses & certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
