Virtu is looking for an eager, multi-faceted Developer to join our Analytics team. Our product suite is a global leader in data analytics, delivering actionable insights to our clients that help inform execution decisions, support trading strategies, and provide reliable measurement and analysis of trading outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and implement custom software and database application capabilities for a variety of legacy and modernized systems with limited oversightBuild server side business logic using Java and related frameworks in an agile development environmentWork with both relational DB and NoSQL such as MongoDB to support application functionalityArchitect complex features with reusability, maintainability, and performance in mindInvestigate new technologies and make solution recommendationsIdentify performance bottlenecks and propose improvementsDevelop low-level Java libraries for core systemAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityTHE CANDIDATE
3+ years of enterprise development experienceB.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or experienceExpertise with Java applications such as JBoss, Java EE, Spring/Spring MVCKnowledge of Python, MongoDB, MySQL, Hibernate, SVN/Git, Linux/Unix and ShellAbility to work independently and within a teamExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
Proven track record in building Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) at a financial services firmExperience in web developmentSolid grasp of distributed computing systems, low-latency systems and/or high transaction environmentsFamiliarity in Vector databases
Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000 (salary range is exclusive of bonuses, benefits or other categories of compensation)
