Avint LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated

IT Intern

to join our team in the Herndon, VA area. We are looking for someone who is a motivated self-starter with the ability to provide fast and effective support across our entire team. In this role, you will be required to respond to queries, assess and diagnose computer hardware and software issues, complete root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.As a part of providing support, you may be required to modify hardware, complete global system and/or software upgrade pushes, as well as perform basic computer maintenance. You will provide technical expertise towards Incident Management & Response, as well as continual management and improvement of Avint’s ticketing system. You will also develop, update and/or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), including recommendations to improve design capabilities as needed. Finally, you will have an in-depth approach to research and reengineering solutions to complex and often uncommon issues.Position Responsibilities:Provide support to corporate staff and associatesManage the Support ticketing system, responding/completing requestsAdminister Microsoft 365 (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint)Create security operations center (SOC) reportsAssist in writing of policies, procedures, and knowledge base documentationPerform scans and analysisPerform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questionsRecord events and problems and their resolution in logsTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical hardware and/or software issuesRequirementsTechnical Qualifications:Microsoft 365 (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint)Microsoft DefenderComputer Networking technologiesAsset ManagementSecurity AnalysisKnowledge of wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) connectivity, routers, firewalls, and securityQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years of relevant experienceEligible to obtain security clearanceStrong understanding of Cybersecurity conceptsDetail oriented in order to keep detailed notes on ticketsDemonstrates strong communication, oral, and written skillsHighly organized to keep Help desk tickets orderAbility to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issuesLinux experience is a plusKnowledge of computer software systems, including databases, office applications, and operating systemsExcellent analytical and diagnostic skillsAdvanced knowledge of help desk software and remote-access systemsAbility to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issuesPerforms tasks with increasing levels of difficulty with less oversight and direction from othersDemonstrates initiative to build expertise within the help desk and IT areaBenefitsAvint is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
