Position Description:

We are seeking a Windows Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and securing the organization's Windows server environment with a strong focus on managing firewall rules and addressing security vulnerabilities. This role involves day-to-day administration of Windows servers, monitoring security protocols, and ensuring the integrity of the network. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Windows server environments, expertise in managing firewalls, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Manage, configure, and maintain Windows servers, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.• Develop, implement, and monitor firewall rules to ensure secure access and protect against unauthorized access or potential threats.• Identify, assess, and mitigate security vulnerabilities within the Windows server environment and other associated infrastructure.• Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and patch management to maintain compliance with security policies and best practices.• Collaborate with the security team to develop strategies for hardening systems and responding to security incidents.• Monitor and analyze system and network activity to detect and respond to potential security threats.• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, firewall rules, and security processes.• Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and protocols.• Work with other IT teams to implement secure configurations for new and existing services.



Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff regarding security best practices.

Requirements:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute, (preferably in Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Management)•

Required Certification: ITIL 4 Foundation

One of the following required: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator.• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator with a strong focus on security.• Proficient in managing firewall rules on platforms such as Cisco Firewall, Palo Alto, AWS WAF (web application firewalls).• In-depth knowledge of Windows server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.• Experience in managing AWS IaaS.• Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and patch management processes.• Strong understanding of security principles, including threat detection, incident response, and access control.• Familiarity with network protocols, security standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).• Ability to analyze security logs and network traffic to identify and resolve security issues.• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired Requirements:• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate• CompTIA Security+• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $109,000 to $148,100 with a target salary of $129,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
