Position overviewThe Test and Validation team is taking responsibility for testing market specific Infotainment and Connect systems and services in North America by covering test and validation activities along the development process of vehicle models and services. Within this team, the Senior Test Automation Engineer Infotainment & Connect ensures timely resolution for all topics belonging to the field of test automation activities, such as test case implementation, test execution, and reporting together with the team of Test Engineers and suppliers. The Senior Test Automation Engineer Infotainment & Connect is also responsible to Porsche Engineering Services US as the main contact and person in authority for their respective technical project which covers a specific set of Porsche models. This responsibility necessitates the capability of coordinating a team as well as staying abreast of the latest technology in test automation.Roles & responsibilitiesAnalysis of requirement documents, conception, implementing and maintenance of test cases in automation toolsImplementation of test cases, including integration of new test devices and/or new testing technologySetup of test automation execution environment, including lab IT infrastructure (e.g. report server, SVN server)Provide test automation training for test engineersPlanning, coordination and execution of test runs and tracking project targetsEvaluation and documentation of the test results as well as result feedback and coordination with the involved (customer) development departmentsAssistance in the analysis of defect imagesSupport of the test management (planning, test coverage, coordination of qualifications, etc.)Align with test managers regarding development milestones, Product Increment (PI) planning including deliverables and team performancePrepare, align, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the test automation activities and progress and actively escalate to test managers, line manager, and others in terms of critical blockers and issuesActively support new team members and suppliers during onboarding process in terms of technical know-how, team structure, processes, and toolsWorking closely with international test automation teams in other locations to share project information, improve processes and enhance know-how exchangeEnsure the record of test activities in given systems, e. g. Atlassian Jira and Confluence and provide monthly reports to test managers

QualificationsQualifications

QualificationsRequired qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering5 years of automotive industry experience in an engineering or related roleGood skills in at least one programming language, Python is preferredExperience in connectivity and infotainment system, understanding general IT infrastructure and software architecture to implement vehicle connected servicesStrong communication skills; ability to present complex subject matter to a wide range of audiencesAbility to work well in a team-oriented environmentExperience with agile software testing projects and processesExperience with Atlassian tool chainISTQB certified

Preferred qualifications include:Advanced degree in Informatics, Computer Science or Electrical EngineeringKnowledge and experience with automotive control units and HiL systemsInnovative thinking, strong communication and team-working skills as well as a high affinity for delivering first-quality engineering services to the customerGood knowledge of Infotainment and Connected Car services as well as testing and validation of such systemsPrior experience with the German Language and Culture considered as a plusIdeal candidates are tenacious, persistent, well-organized, flexible to adapt to various forms of challenges, process oriented and work well within a group

The pay range for this position is between $130,000 and $160,000 per year.Percentage of required travel:

Schedule/Shift: 5:30,6:00am - afternoonPhysical requirementsComfortable with physical exertion for 3-5 hour intervalsComfortable standing and walking for 3 - 5 hour intervalsAbility to travel long distances in aircraft or via automobile (5 hours)This job operates in a port and office environment.
