Description

Spatial Front provides IT solutions to federal, state, and local governments and the private sector. We are currently looking for a Database Administrator to join our dynamic team supporting our Federal Government client.

Summary of Major Job Functions

Non-technical activities:

Plan and support specific business, management, functional, technical, and professional or policy areas of the project. Identify issues, conduct analysis and assessments, and provide inputs to program/project leaders.Technical activities:

Assist in the daily database operations of the DQST program, specifically in the development, performance, integrity, and security of the DQST database.Primary Responsibilities

A successful candidate

must be located within a reasonable driving distance of Silver Spring, MD;

this role is primarily remote but may require onsite support at FDA facilities as requested by the customer.Extracting and/or loading data, customizing the DQST database to source relevant laboratory results, FAR, Med Watch, and inspection data from ORADDS, CDEROne, FAERS II, QSD, and other relevant data sources, increasing automation in the processes to import data and update the external data sources.Configuring servers and databases.Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices.Ensure the operating system supporting the database remains up to date and compliant with all FDA OIMT and FDA Cybersecurity requirements.Identify and resolve all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are online and without service interruption.Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.Develop new and enhance existing standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and business needs.Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.Write and edit automated jobs that import and export data between systems.Create tables and write reports on their findings, validating data output through SQL and simplify highly technical language for end users in the company.Participate in creating strategies and roadmaps for business intelligence and data platforms.Database programming to include table normalization, SQL (Structured Query Language), and data integrity.Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.Provide after-hours and emergency support for services critical to sustaining operations outside of normal business hours, on an as needed basis.Manage access and permissions for the database to assign read, add, update, and delete privileges at the form or field level to individual users as requested by the database owner.Maintain 'Active Directory' groups that provide users access application server locations.Requirements

BA/BS from an accredited university in a related field7-10 years of experienceFull-stack developer with skills across both frontend and backend developmentDatabase administration/development experience with Microsoft ACCESS backend data structures, relationships and developing front end interfaces.Experience with Windows operating system environment, backend coding languages (e.g., SQL, Java), and frontend coding languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript)Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performanceDesired Skills and Qualifications:

MA/MS from an accredited university in a related fieldAdditional Information:

The salary for this position is

$65,000 - $105,000
