About the Employer

Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,800 students from grades TK-8. We have 18 school campuses along with a TK-8 Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). Six out of eighteen schools receive Title I funds. The size of the schools range from approximately 730 students to 270 students. The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the District.

Oak Grove School District's focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals. First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading/language arts interwoven with science, social studies and visual and performing arts. Student performance goals have been integrated into the state and federal accountability systems. Annually, the LCAP and SPSA's are updated with our students, staff and various community groups in keeping with our core values, the vision, and the annual goals.

The District is located in the southeastern corner of San Jose, California bounded by Capitol Expressway to the north, Canoas Creek to the west, Bernal Road to the south and the foothills to the east.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-Minimum of three years of experience providing Intensive Behavior Intervention and possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education or anapproved related field or a minimum of three years of experience providing Intensive Behavior Intervention.-Education equivalent to the completion of High School Diploma.- A minimum of two (2) years of working with children, preferably in special education.- Possess a valid Registered Behavior Technician certificate issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.-Successful completion of a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention course, or other equivalent de-escalation and crisis responding course that is approved by the District.WORKING CONDITIONSEnvironment: Classroom environment, subject to interruptions; subject to driving to variouslocations to conduct work. May be required to drive to assigned students' places of residence toperform work. The noise level in the environment may range from quiet to loud.

CPR/First Aid Certification (Copy of CPR and First Aid Certification.)Driver's License Copy (Copy of valid California Driver's License. )Other (Minimum of three years of experience providing Intensive Behavior Intervention and possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education or an approved related field or a minimum of three years of experience providing Intensive Behavior Intervention.)Proof of HS Graduation (Education equivalent to the completion of High School Diploma.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:-Meet one of the following requirements:-Completion of two years (48 semester units) of study at an institution of higher education.-Possess an associate's degree (or higher) from a recognized college or university.-Pass an approved test that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and ability to assist in instructional as well as knowledge of language arts and math.(NCLB)-Obtain a Registered Behavior Technician certificate issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board within 9 months of commencing employment in the position.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:All must be attached to application:• Successful completion of the Autism Instruction Module units (AIM Modules) in the areas of Recognizing Autism and Autism in the Classroom.• Possess a valid Registered Behavior Technician certificate issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board• Possess a valid California Driver's License• CPR and First Aid Certification
