Job Description

The Materials Management Receiver participates in a variety of materials control duties, involving receiving, verifying, storing, issuing and shipping of supplies, materials and equipment.

Responsibilities

Receives and unpacks shipments, verifies contents against purchase orders, records receiving on all merchandise in the Materials management system (HEMM). Makes sure that all shortages and overages are properly entered. Maintains cleanliness of work area

Processes all incoming inventory materials in a timely manner so receipt of materials and put away of items will not interfere with the rest of the materials operation

Reports shortages, overages, items received wrong without packing slips or P.O. numbers, damaged material received to supervisor/coordinator. Maintains damaged/returned log for items in holding area to be returned to vendor

Inspects all furniture and equipment for damage

Transports and transfers supplies and equipment to requisitioning departments

Restocks storeroom shelves with incoming inventory, rotates stock, notes expiration dates of supplies where applicable and acts accordingly; participates in inventory and helps maintain an adequate inventory supply in the storeroom

Issues property tags and maintains records of property tags on capital equipment for Asset Management

Wraps, packages, labels and logs items for shipping. Orders supplies for FedEx and UPS shipping. Maintains files of outgoing shipments

Verifies receipt of all cylinders and ensures that cylinders are properly secured and stored

Participates in fiscal inventories. Maintains regular communications with Buyers, Customers and Supervisor about changes in procedures

Logs all incoming bone, tissue, and/or implants in Horizon Tissue Manager system

Inputs all packing slips after delivery and signature in Image now system

Makes courier deliveries as needed

Demonstrates an awareness of appropriate confidentiality rules and regulations and acts accordingly

Transports items to and from various locations, ensuring proper care of items handled during transport

Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma / GED

Required Experience: At least one (1) year of experience in a shipping and receiving position

Preferred Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a warehouse facility working with receiving/shipping of materials and inventory/cycle counting responsibilities

Required Certifications and Licensures: Valid Virginia Driver's License
