Summary

We are in search of a Power BI Lead who has a passion for data and analytics, and can effectively collaborate with our business teams. The perfect candidate will have technical expertise in creating and maintaining data sets, developing reports and dashboards, and possess a solid understanding of Azure data engineering.

This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in office 1-2 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Report and Dashboard Development: You will design and build interactive reports and dashboards to effectively present data.

Power BI Administration: You will oversee the Power BI service, including the management of workspaces, apps, and content packs.

Technical Leadership: As a lead, you will provide technical guidance in the area of Power BI and data analytics.

Data Model Design and Implementation: You will design and implement data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

Power BI Report and Dashboard Maintenance: You will develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business objectives and decision-making processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration: You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and provide innovative solutions to address challenges.

Performance Optimization: You will optimize the performance and efficiency of Power BI reports and queries through data modeling and optimization techniques.

Documentation: You will create and maintain documentation related to data sources, data models, and Power BI solutions.

Team and Business Collaboration: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Power BI solutions with existing systems and applications. Work closely with various business teams to comprehend their data requirements

Technical Mentorship: You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Trend Analysis: You will stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies, recommending opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Education & Experience

Proven experience of Power BI, report and dashboard creation.

Experience in Power BI administration.

Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with Power BI.

Minimum of 7 years of experience of database development experience

Preferred any ETL experience

Preferred experience in leading and managing a team of developers.

Strong background in data analysis, data modeling, and business intelligence.

Proficient in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and M language.

Experience with SQL and data integration techniques.

Familiarity with Azure data engineering.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient.

Curiosity to learn and understand business processes.

Strong proficiency in SQL, DAX, and M language for data manipulation and transformation.

Extensive experience in semantic model creation and optimization, data visualization, and techniques such as Row-level Security and incremental refresh.

Proven track record of delivering high-quality Power BI solutions that meet business requirements including but not limited to self-service analytics, embedded analytics, and alerting.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
