Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 32 hours per week

SALARY:

$35 per hour, $1 dollar bilingual differential pay.

StarVista is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has helped people of all ages throughout San Mateo County navigate life challenges for over 55 years. Our mental health, crisis intervention, youth housing, substance use, and early childhood services help thousands of individuals each year. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

StarVista's Together For Families (TFF) is available to any family with a child 0-18 living in the cities of San Mateo County. The focus of program is reducing caregiver stress and building on family's existing strengths. Through a strength-based and short-term approach families receive clinical interventions and support during treatment. The program is anchored in reducing risk factors that may contribute to child abuse and/or neglect. Services are available in the family's home, in their community or virtually. Range of services includes:

-Individual therapy

-Family therapy

-Clinical Case Management

-Parent Education Workshops and Parent Support groups in the school.

Clinician will provide individual, group, and family therapy as needed. Clinician will provide workshops in the school geared toward parents.

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

StarVista's Together For Families program supports families in improving aspects of their lives that may lead to stronger interpersonal relationships and self-esteem, enhanced life performance, and increased knowledge of community support systems. To accomplish this goal, qualified mental health clinicians provide a myriad of services including assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, family therapy, psychoeducation, and school presentations. We are committed to culturally sensitive, strengths based, and trauma informed care. We adapt our services to fit the unique needs of San Mateo County's diverse population.

We are looking for skilled, passionate, and creative clinicians to join a strong clinical team comprised of diverse individuals (licensed, associates and trainees) who are passionate about supporting students. Clinicians will collaborate with other staff in the coordination of ethically appropriate, theoretically sound, culturally sensitive, trauma informed and holistic interventions to address student issues and enhance client and family member strengths. This is a school-based position within San Mateo County; the hours of the position are based off the school's schedule, which are usually Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provide mental health support to children and parents utilizing a short-term model and solution focused treatment.Provide weekly at school sessions.Assess families by utilizing the PSC-35 assessment tool and program clinical intake assessment.Provide individual therapy to students, crisis intervention, family support, parent education, safety planning, and intake assessment.Provide appropriate psychoeducation and clinical case management services.Collaborate with school staff to coordinate ethically appropriate, theoretically sound, culturally informed, and holistic interventions to address client issues and enhance client strengths.Become familiarized and utilize with STEP, TF-CBT and Solution Focused Therapy.Prepare and facilitate educational workshops and/or student support groups.Maintain timely and clinically appropriate documentation of all clinical services.Attend meetings, didactic training, clinical supervision, and other mandatory training.Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Demonstrable and verifiable clinical skills and experience in providing therapy services.Strong ethical principles reflected in practice, including a thorough understanding of client confidentiality requirements, appropriate clinical record keeping, and federal/state laws governing the practice of mental health services.Understanding of issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Willingness to explore self in relation to these issues, and ability to provide culturally informed therapeutic services to diverse clientele.Strong organization and communication skills.Skilled in maintaining positive relationships and collaborating with school staff, and parents/caregivers.Ability to work as a team member with staff and upper management to accomplish tasks supporting the agency's mission.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Seeking a post-degree candidate who is registered with the BBS as an AMFT, ASW, PCCI or Board of Psychology.Driver's License and HR clearance required, including TB test, and Department of Justice LiveScan Fingerprint clearanceBilingual in Spanish preferred.BENEFITS: *Benefits applicable only to benefit eligible employees 20+hours per week on a prorated basis
