The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a highly skilled Database Developer/Administrator to support the TIERS DataMart database. This position requires a professional with a minimum of 8 years of experience in database development, reporting, and performance tuning, specifically utilizing Informatica and Cognos.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform advanced metrics and reporting development in Informatica 10.5 and Cognos Analytics 11.1.Conduct performance monitoring and tuning for the TIERS DataMart to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and archiving of diverse data sets.Support the planning, design, administration, and maintenance of the TIERS DataMart database, ensuring scalability and stability.Provide database design and development support to application development teams for enhancements and new program requests.Write and debug complex reports in Informatica and Cognos, ensuring data integrity and compliance with best practices.Configure and monitor alerts, developing and implementing monitoring tools to address future data needs.Develop policies and procedures for consistent implementation of database and programming best practices.Collaborate with other teams to accomplish project goals and create necessary technical and design documentation.Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for database-related issues.Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts, ensuring applications function properly and without errors.Participate in program design, coding, and test walk-through meetings, contributing insights on technical standards and customer requirements.Support production operations by addressing defects, conducting maintenance, and ensuring overall application reliability.Mandatory Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Informatica 10.5.Minimum of 5 years of experience developing reports in Cognos Analytics 11.1.Minimum of 8 years of experience using Unix cron and writing Unix shell scripts.Minimum of 8 years of experience writing moderate to advanced SQL queries.Extensive knowledge of Oracle 19 and basic understanding of star schemas/dimensional data structures.Exceptional technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.Desirable Qualifications:
3 years of experience with TIERS or HHSC programs and types of assistance.Additional Information:
Candidates may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.Prior experience within the same department and recent project involvement is mandatory.Candidates must provide copies of relevant certifications.
