Will significantly contribute to the development of cutting edge technology. As a result, the candidate will be expected to work autonomously identifying and solving problems quickly while working toward broader strategic goals.

Work is performed in a hybrid role.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The Control Plane team is responsible for the platform that other teams deploy their services to and delivering a solid product to our customersYou'll also get to work with engineers from other teams to build new features and capabilitiesImplement platform services in KubernetesDiscuss ideas and collaborate on solutionsDebug and troubleshoot critical technical issuesMentor new team members, both junior and seniorImprove engineering standards, tooling, and processesWork with a distributed team of experienced engineersCollaborate with other engineering, QA and documentation teams to execute on product deliverablesOther duties as assigned

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Security Clearance: A U.S. Government Secret level clearance is highly desired, but not required to start. Will be processed for a Secret clearance if candidate does not possess one; U.S. Citizenship required.9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.Professional and in-depth experience with Go, with strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skillsThe ideal candidate is a strong systems integrator with an eye for opportunity to enhance, optimize, or increase robustness of an existing code baseDeep understanding of Kubernetes and its ecosystem (i.e service meshes, scalability, volume management, etc.)Experience with working in a Kubernetes based environmentExperience with developing and maintaining APIsThe candidate should have experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) and be able to leverage modern tools to define, build and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)Have a solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications and proficiency in scripting.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2-3 days per week at our Columbia, MD office. However, flexibility is essential to accommodate any changes in the schedule.Preferred Requirements:

Experience with Kubernetes Operators/Controllers developmentDeep understanding of distributed systems and communication between servicesExperience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab-CI)Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., Youtrack, Gitlab, Nexus etc.DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
