Tesla's Optimus firmware team is growing, and we are looking to hire a Software Validation Engineer to take ownership of architecting, building, and maintaining test infrastructure for joint controllers. This work will enable the team to ship software releases to our growing robot fleet with high confidence.We are looking for an experienced Validation Engineer to create validation infrastructure from scratch to continuously test safety critical code changes for joint controllers. In addition, this role would also involve development of test cases and any tooling required to ease writing tests. Responsibilities

Create and develop automated validation infrastructure (HIL/SIL) to enable reliable, efficient, thorough, accurate, and repeatable testsDevelop and execute automated regression test suites for safety critical joint controls firmwareContinuously analyze and improve regression test suite coverageOwn the validation release process for customer releases, including test strategy scoping, test execution, and sign offCreate and execute board level test plans to expose weaknesses or faultsRequirements

2-5+ years of relevant experience in embedded development or test automationBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experienceExcellent proficiency in Python, CExperience with communication technologies CAN and EthernetKnowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integrationExcellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with the teamKnowledge and experience with automation and build tools is a plus, ex. Jenkins, Docker, SConsPrevious experience in auto-industry or validating highly complex and asynchronous embedded systems is a plusAbility to read and review electronic circuit schematic is a plusCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$104,000 - $360,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
