Description
We are recruiting Senior Network Engineer on behalf of our client, a GovCon to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking and telecommunications, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical area with an emphasis on Networking and Telecommunications.
Secret Clearance is required.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage network infrastructure to support business operations.Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN).Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and outages.Collaborate with other IT staff to develop and implement network solutions.Ensure network security through the implementation of appropriate measures and protocols.Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with an emphasis on Networking and Telecommunications or a related technical area.Sec+CE certification within six months of hire.Cisco CCIE or Juniper JNCIE certification (optional).Minimum of four years of engineering experience with large scale IP networks.Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and technologies (e.g., MPLS, VPN, QoS).Experience with network security practices and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS).Proficiency in network monitoring and performance tools.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) are a plus.Secret Security clearance - THIS IS ESSENTIALRequired Experience:
Minimum four years of engineering experience with large scale IP networks.Knowledge in several of the following areas is required:
Large scale IP networking environments, preferably within the DoD.Cisco router/switch configuration and troubleshooting.Juniper router/switch configuration and troubleshooting.IP network troubleshooting.IP network lab testing.Substantial experience with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).Routing with IS-IS and BGP.MPLS VPN/Traffic Engineering.Additional Skills:
Handling assignments involving technology, network planning and analysis, and testing strategies.Excellent presentation and email skills.Ability to participate in working groups.
Benefits & Compensation
Annual salary is $140,000 - $190,000.
This is a 100% onsite role at Fort Meade, MD.
