Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (15-20 hours per week) Student Graphic Designer position for the College of Forestry at Oregon State University. This position offers an opportunity for students to develop creatively, gain experience, build their portfolio, and to further strengthen their design skills and experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. The Student Graphic Designer will assist with the creative development and maintenance of printed and digital marketing initiatives for the Marketing and Communications Office and the college.
Position Duties
70% Graphic Design (Digital & Print)
Concept, draft and design print materials (posters, flyers, brochures, event materials) and digital assets (digital monitor/presentation slides, PowerPoint templates, social media graphics, email and website assets) pertaining to College of Forestry initiatives. Work collaboratively as a part of the college's marketing & communications team to ensure all designs meet the needs of the client and utilize the Oregon State University brand in creative and visually engaging ways.
Perform this work in partnership with and under the direction of the Assistant Art Director and the College of Forestry marketing and communications team.
20% Production (Digital & Print)
Generate visual assets via design, illustration, photography, video or animation for the college use (social media, asset libraries) in partnership with and under the direction of the Assistant Art Director and the College of Forestry Marketing and Communications Team.
10% Administrative Duties
Complete administrative tasks as requested (digital asset & file organization, records, office upkeep.) Provide administrative support for the College of Forestry merch store.
Work will be performed in an office setting in Peavy Forest Science Center.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of studyMust meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employmentMust meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling programUndergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per termUndergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per termGraduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
