What We're Looking For:Iridium is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Administrator to join our dynamic Network Operations team. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of experts to address and resolve a wide range of complex networking challenges across the organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure and equipment. You will be responsible for conducting rigorous network and security testing, validation, and troubleshooting. Success in this role is achieved by individuals who are passionate about advancing their network knowledge and skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are dedicated to delivering innovative and high-quality solutions.What You'll Do:Maintain, deploy, and manage sophisticated network infrastructure including IP switching, routers, and firewalls using Cisco Catalyst L3 switches, Nexus 9K platforms, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto firewalls

Spearhead the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networking and security hardware and operating systems, generating ideas and applying innovative solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure network infrastructure aligns with organizational goalsEnsure network performance and reliability by monitoring system performance, tuning configurations, and performing regular maintenanceConduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the network and security industry, technologies, and best practicesDevelop, maintain, and update comprehensive IT documentation including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and best practices

What You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree8+ years of experience in Information Technology7+ years of experience with Cisco Routers/Switches with advanced knowledge of TCP/IP network administration3+ years of experience with managing and maintaining routers, switches, and other vendors' networking technologies as well as Cisco ASA's and Palo Alto firewallsStrong knowledge of and multi-year hands-on experience with IP communication protocols such as OSI Model, Spanning-Tree, VDC, VTP, VSS, and routing protocols such as OSPF and EIGRPExcellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topicHave confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your teamExcellent troubleshooting and problem management skills in a dynamic environmentCapable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for the team and role modelling commitment to your team's goalsProficiency with Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and TeamThings That Would be

if You Brought to the Table:Cisco (CCNP or higher preferred) and/or Firewall vendors security certifications5+ years in or supporting a 24/7 Operations EnvironmentPrevious experience with any of the following:Working in a datacenter or telecommunications environmentMid-to-large scale LAN/WAN networks and securitySolarWinds, Cisco ISE, and/or Wireshark platformsWindows and UNIX environmentsTroubleshooting network connectivity issues at both an application and desktop OS levelWe'll also need you to:Provide 24/7 on-call assistance as needed to support business operationsBe able to travel up to 10%Be able to lift 30 lbs.Be a U.S. citizen (due to ITAR restrictions)Work Environment:This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer.
