Job Description:

ECS is seeking a Linux System Administrator in support a major Department of Energy National Laboratory. The position is supporting the Enterprise IT Platforms & Solutions organization providing modern platforms for the Enterprise IT: container orchestration, virtualization, Linux configuration and patch management, infrastructures code, and Linux and Windows server systems. The candidate will work in a team environment that design and operate technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system.

Deploy and maintain production Linux operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks, and file systems.Strong Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packagesContinually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levelsWork with Enterprise IT Configuration Management automation tools/approachesQUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience - BA/BS in IT Related field plus 2 years of IT experienceExperience in Unix/Linux system administrationMust be a US CitizenshipMaintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance.Required Skills:

Experience in Linux Web Cluster administrationExperience in Apache, Ngnix, haproxyExperience in Ansible for automation of provisioning and configuration of Linux servicesWorking knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, and LDAPWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocolsFamiliarity or experience with virtualized systems (such as KVM, ESX) and containersKnowledge of CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log filesExperience with solving practical problems and system analysis of the iT infrastructuresExperience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environmentAbility to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environmentDesired Skills:

Strong networking backgroundUser and group managementProcess management
