We are seeking a

Data Engineer

to support USTRANSCOM's role as the Single Manager for Global Bulk Fuel Management and Delivery (GBFMD) to establish and maintain a Single Source of Truth Joint Petroleum Enterprise (JPE) data set for the Department of Defense (DoD). The Data Engineer will design how bulk fuel data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by the JPE and digital systems. Additionally, it will support the development of a Global Common Operating Picture and other bulk fuel IT tools. This position requires the application of advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to a complex problem-set. Duties & Responsibilities:

Common Operating Picture Support: Ingestion of data into Databricks, ingestion of data from Databricks into Palantir's Ontology, and front-end developmentJPE Data Set Support: Review JPE data sources - applications, websites, programs, COPs, etc., and source additional JPE Data. Ingest JPE data into a structure that will allow for API development. Make data available to the JPE in a standard, easy-to-access manner, develop and publish APIs for use.Data Dictionary Management: Management of a centralized repository of meaning, relationships to other data, origin, usage, format, and metadata for JPE data setAdminister data topics, data structure and employment of best practices.Support and participate in working groups, meetings, metadata requirements, partnering on data structure model, tools, etc.Provide GBFMD equities to USTRANSCOM, JS, and OSD governance boards as needed.Provide deliverables, per contract Performance Work Statement requirements, to include, but not limited to weekly and month status reports, meeting minutes, trip reports, letters, memoranda, briefings, presentations and reports.Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by Division Chief, Branch Chief and Program Manager.Minimum Qualifications:

DoD SECRET Clearance and ability to be granted DoD TS/SCIBachelor's or master's degree in one of the following fields or related studies:Archives/Digitization Management.Computer/Data ScienceInformation/Data/Knowledge ManagementInformation TechnologyManagement Information SystemsMathematicsEngineering4 years' experience in data manipulation, databases, data structures, data management and engineering best practices.4 years of experience with SQL4 years of experience developing data pipelines using modern Big Data ETL technologies4 years of experience with a modern programming language such as Python or Java4 years of experience working in a big data and cloud environment2 years of experience working in Databricks (Advana)Experience working with DoDAbility to travel within CONUS, approximately 10% of timePreferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Maven Smart Systems or similar platformsExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, to quickly learn technical concepts and communicate with multiple functional groupsExperience working with DLA or USTRANSCOM

$125,000 - $135,000 a year
