Job responsibilities
Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesBe accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresEnsures successful collaboration across partner technology teams and stakeholdersIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teamCreates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representationRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise8+ years experience leading teams of technologistsAbility to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesAbility to collaborate with both business stakeholders and technology partnersExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentIn-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systemsPrior hands on experience with Java Microservices or Full Stack DevelopmentPractical cloud native experience with AWS (or comparable Public Cloud)Demonstrated proficiency in creating and presenting functional and technical architectures.In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working at code levelProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsAdditional knowledge of front-end technologies i.e. React / Tuxedo/JSPrior experience with NoSQL Databases along with modern Data Lake platformsStakeholder Management
