Introduction

We are currently looking for a Therapist II (Clinical Services Caseworker) to join our Emergency Services Team that provides essential crisis interventions services to the community.

This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as funds permit. The first installment of $2,500 is payable on the pay date after ninety (90) days of employment have been completed and the final $2,500 installment will be payable on the pay date following the completion of probation.

About This Role:The Emergency Services Hearing Therapist II conducts risk assessments for people experiencing behavioral health crisis such as suicidal/homicidal thoughts or psychosis. The Therapist II assesses the level of risk, provides intervention to assist with stabilization and recommends appropriate level of care services to the courts.

Coordinates the hearing processes (scheduling, submission of documents, family notification).Works collaboratively with the PWC court systems.Provides emergency mental health intervention services in a 24/7 program.Conducts screening interviews and makes recommendations for level of careProvides outreach, assessment, linkage to and coordination with other service providersProvides crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide-under supervisory guidance, evaluates risk and potential need for hospitalization;Develops and implements risk management plans;Maintains records according to agency's policies and procedures, prepares reports;Attends and participates in staff meetings and professional development activities;Prepares and presents case presentations for clinical supervision.

Minimum Requirements:-Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral science field-1-2 years of related experience providing services to individuals in a Behavioral Health, Substance Use or Emergency Program (9 months of supervised experience will be considered as 1 year of experience).-Must currently possess OR be eligible to obtain a LCSW or LPC in the Commonwealth of Virginia within 2 years of hire.

Preferences:-Experience conducting risk assessments-Experience working within judicial systems.-Experience working in a behavioral health setting.-Experience collaborating with other departments & stakeholders-Experience working within a 24/7 program-Experience with preadmission assessments

Special Requirements:Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral science fieldLicensed or licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia.Must possess a valid driver's license;Must pass DMV record check;Must pass TB test;Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted-based national criminal history record check.Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.
