DESCRIPTIONThe Behavioral Specialist will support students in grades 6-12 by developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior intervention plans designed to improve students' social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes. The specialist works closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role involves direct intervention with students, staff training, and data-driven decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONSAssociates and/or Bachelor's Degree recommended; or equivalent applicable experience.Previous experience working with students in a middle or high school setting, particularly those with behavioral challenges.Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with challenging behaviors.Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other staff to ensure consistency in implementing BIPs.Provide direct support to students through one-on-one or small group interventions.Teach and reinforce positive behavior strategies and social-emotional skills.Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address behavioral concerns and provide recommendations.Facilitate communication between school staff and families to ensure a coordinated approach to behavior management.Support teachers in implementing classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior.Stay updated on current research and best practices in behavioral interventions and share knowledge with staff.Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and interventions.Respond to behavioral crises and de-escalate situations in a safe and effective manner.Provide guidance and support during behavioral emergencies, ensuring the safety of all students and staff.Any other duties assigned by principal or designee.BENEFITS
