Sr. SAS Engineer

Skills and RequirementsMetric5 is seeking a Senior SAS Engineer to join our growing team. As a SAS subject matterexpert, you possess extensive expertise in SAS software and will lead the management of existingplatforms while planning and implementing the upgrade to SAS Viya 4. You will facilitate the migrationof users and environments from the legacy SAS PME and SAS 3.5 platforms to the new Viya 4environment. Additionally, you will develop server-side scripts to help automate administrative tasksusing Linux or Windows OSProgram DetailsThe program you will be supporting has a mission to provide development, security, and operations(DevSecOps) support to a federal agency with a focus on development, operations, and modernizationof their Enterprise Data Warehouse/Data Lake. The team utilizes open-source, AWS Cloud, and Big Datatechnologies, Agile project management practices, and modern DevSecOps delivery to provide supportsystems to meet the reporting and data analytics need critical to agency leadership and other decisionmakers.RequirementsMonitor the full architecture of the SAS environment to ensure optimal configuration and performanceDiagnose infrastructure and performance problems as well as recommend and implementoptimal solutionsExperience with installing, implementing and configuring SAS including systems design,deployment, troubleshooting and tuningExperience with SAS system patching and upgradesImplement and configure SAS softwareSupport configuration between tools and other required software for monitoring and testingSupport application developers and tuning of the SAS infrastructureExperience in managing complex processes and providing solutions and enhancements forbetter maintenance of SASExperience in administering an enterprise SAS solutionStrong experience in SQL, Unix andSAS 9 and/or Viya certificationDesired Skills:

Experience in SAS automation and SAS script migrationExperience working in an agile or scrum development environmentExperience with designing, planning and documenting solutionsCertifications

SAS Certified Platform Administrator for SAS 9SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9SAS Certified BI Content Developer for SAS 9Understanding of SAS Base/SAS Macro programming languagesExperience with AWS Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes

Years of Experience:

At least 5 years of experience administering, developing and implementing SASsolutions.Education:

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred - Computer Science, Mathematics, orequivalent technical degree, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and workexperience.Location:
