INCUMBENT CAN BE HOUSED IN EITHER ALBUQUERQUE BOYS REINTEGRATION CENTER (ABRC) OR EAGLE NEST REINTEGRATION CENTER (ENRC).
Why does the job exist?
This Position facilitates and completes comprehensive diagnostic/psychological evaluations to inform treatment and Pre-dispositional Diagnostic Evaluations (15-day) to inform the Courts of the treatment needs for preadjudicated and post-adjudicated JJS clients . We utilize valid, reliable, norm-referenced psychometric measures, tests, assessments, clinical interviews, collateral interviews, and collateral file reviews of JJS clients to effectively identify and diagnose their current behavioral and mental health needs. JJS Facilities serve a clientele with a wide array of complex behavioral and mental health needs which reflect both chronic and extremely acute levels of psychological, emotional, cognitive and intellectual functioning. This position will develop and implement evidence based treatment recommendations for juveniles in our custody. Experience working with male and female adolescents, trauma informed treatment, and experience working with violent offenders is preferred.
How does it get done?
Complete an initial risk and safety assessment, provide informed consent, utilize valid, reliable, norm-referenced psychometric measures, tests, assessments, clinical interviews, collateral interviews, and collateral file reviews of JJS clients to effectively identify, diagnose, and document in a comprehensive diagnostic report their current behavioral and mental health needs intended to inform treatment or the Courts.
Who are the customers?
Post Adjudicated Post-dispositional clients and Post Adjudicated Pre-dispositional clients.
Ideal Candidate
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work and New Mexico Licensure as a LMSW, LISW, LPCC, LMHC, LMFT or LPAT. A Provisional LMSW, Provisional LISW, Temporary LPCC, Temporary LMHC, Temporary LMFT or Temporary LPAT will also meet minimum qualification. Failure to obtain full licensure or loss of licensure will disqualify the person from meeting the minimum requirements. For position providing clinical supervision, a Master"s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work, two (2) years of experience and full licensure as an LISW, LPCC, or LMFT is required.
Minimum Qualification
Licensure in New Mexico as an LMSW, LISW, LMHC, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or LPAT and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pr-employment criminal background check is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and phone usage. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. May be exposed to potentially difficult clients/witnesses. Some statewide travel may be required.
