Summary of PositionUnder the administrative supervision of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Career Director, this position is central to the college Career and Professional Success operations. In the context of the UNH Wildcat Way to Professional Success Model, counsel students and alumni in exploring educational, personal or career goals; identifying interests, skills, and possible majors; exploring internship/experiential learning opportunities; relating majors and competencies to career options; developing concrete action steps to advance career options and the job search process; and researching graduate and post-graduate professional programs.

Serve as the lead career counselor for College of Engineering and Physical Science undergraduates, graduate students, and alumniTeach/co-teach career courses when established as an engagement strategy and priority in the collegeConsider academic majors and their connections to industryAdminister and interpret individual interest, skills, abilities, and values assessment instrumentsStay current with career advising trends - develop an external career education network and learn from best practicesCollaborate with peers in other colleges to continuously innovate career advising Present at conferences/eventsPerform other duties as assigned by College Director to ensure the success of CaPS on behalf of the university, its students, and alumni

Duty/ResponsibilityProgramming

Support college-wide career development activities (for undergraduate and graduate students); fully implement and continuously improve CaPS career preparedness model: the Wildcat Way to Professional SuccessSupport career services informational programs; including orientation, admitted students' days, parents/family weekendDevelop and use standardized methodology for program development to include goals, learning objectives, alignment with strategic plan

Analyze student engagement and satisfaction data/reports from CaPS and continuously assess priorities and service deliveryLeverage data to "get to know" student population - how to best serve/influence retentionTrain students (and develop programming if needed) on the use of various CaPS technologies-Handshake, Vmock etc.Design and deliver mass communications to students including the weekly career emails

Support, development, and maintain partnerships with student organizations, faculty, and staffManage outreach to student organizations and student leadership groups tied to the college and develop/lead tailored career programs addressing specific needs of each groupWork with and leverage alumni in programming
