Minimum Qualifications Summary

Job ObjectiveThe purpose of this requirement is to support CDC in its effort to gather and analyze data from longitudinal pregnant people and infant surveillance and Birth Defects surveillance/registry systems, as well as provide services to support CDC activities related to neonatal abstinence syndrome to make use of existing state bio surveillance and other surveillance tools to improve voluntary, de-identified prenatal and newborn health data. Data may include opioid-related information before and during pregnancy to reduce risks associated with neonatal abstinence syndrome and optimize care.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain SQL Server databases and database objects to enable end-to-end data life cycle.Participate in machine learning and natural language processing sessions with Epidemiologists and other teams.Co-lead design and implementation of NorthStar Architecture for SET-Net's Data Modernization Initiative, enabling a comprehensive data structure to support reporting and analytics.Leverage SAS, R, and SQL for data transformation and analysis. Convert code between languages and conduct code review sessions with product owners and developers.Mentor current and new staff in data design, modeling, and best practices in data lifecycle management.Develop new Power BI reports and dashboards to increase SET-Net's analysis capabilities.Utilize Kimball-based data modeling techniques and medallion architecture to create and maintain tables and other objects for SET-Net data. And resolve relational database issues as a subject matter expert.Recommend and implement database changes to respond to scientific analytic needs and maintain a data dictionary for all data files used to create reports provided to the CDC project team every quarter.Develop and advance standard operating procedures for data management.Identify training needs of end users related to data quality.Develop technical training guides to respond to identified training needs, Test software to ensure proper functionality, troubleshoot problems and resolve technical issues.
