Compensation:

$60,000-$95,000 based on experience.

The

Engineer, Systems Software

position involves working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment to design, develop, and test integrated software with hardware technology, focusing on optical, mechanical, and electronic systems. Responsibilities include designing and developing metrology software, creating user interface concepts, collaborating with internal clients, and maintaining documentation.

Role and Responsibilities:Work in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced, process-oriented environment to successfully test integrated software with hardware technology, including optical, mechanical, and electronic systems.Keep current in technology and methods for developing software, especially those that help to increase understanding of metrology as applied to measurement and inspection, which are of value to QVI.Design and develop metrology software with unit tests for QVI software applications.Design and develop user interface, usability, and user experience concepts for QVI software applications.Develop and maintain all documentation associated with the software under development, e.g., requirements, specifications, bug reports, etc.Work with internal clients to determine requirements and provide support for QVI software applications.Work with internal test teams within iterative, agile development processes.Create, maintain, and execute scripting for the benefit of automated build processes.Requirements

Must have a bachelor's degree, or relevant work experience for equivalence, in one or more of the following fields:

Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (with software experience), Mechanical Engineering (with software experience)

Must successfully have demonstrated solid ability in most of these areas:o Software development processes.

o Microsoft Windows development tools and environment (C, VC++, C#).

o Reading parts lists and blueprint drawings.

o Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

o Team oriented.

o Operate and calibrate various machines and equipment.

o Oral and written communication skills.

o Math and geometry skills.

Physical and/or Environmental Requirements:

Must be able to work for extended periods of time in an office or laboratory setting.Ability to sit for extended periods of time (8-hour shift) in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, computer mouse, phone, etc.)Ability to occasionally move about and navigate through the workplace.Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects of 10-15 pounds.What We Offer:Paid Time Off:
