Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in the development and implementation of a student success planProvide individual and group counseling support for Success Academy students.Coordinate and monitor MTSS Tier 2 and 3 attendance and behavioral supports for all Carpentersville Middle School Students.Provide crisis support for students; including maintaining Crisis Prevention Intervention certification.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring data.Communicate effectively with school administrators, parents, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and behavior concerns.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines; including but not limited to, IEP's, 504's and Alternative Learning Programs.Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.Provide preventative and reactive counseling, both individual and group, in order to assist students in finding solutions to personal, social, and educational problems.Serve as a resource person for career and vocational educational information.Serve as a resource person to parents and students concerning community services.Serve as a resource person to students regarding college selection and financial assistance.Consult with teachers, parents, and other school personnel regarding students' concerns.Coordinate effective staff and parent communication.Coordinate and participate in the pupil personnel referral procedure at the building level.Assist in the registration and orientation programs for students.Adjust student programs and schedules during the school year.Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of individual student 4 year plans.Coordinate the District assessment programs within the building (i.e. PSAE, Local Assessments, College Entrance.)Coordinate the maintenance of student records.Advise administrators and staff on the matters of student concerns.Interpret the guidance program to the community.Perform additional duties as requested by the building administrator.Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.

Qualifications:

Illinois licensure with School Counselor endorsement. Ability to work with all levels of students as the Counselor. Knowledge of the college readiness skills and experience with common core standards are preferred. Teamwork and collaboration are required, along with reflection and a desire to continually improve your practice.
