POSITION SUMMARY
As an Applications Engineer, you will need to formulate an engineered estimate and or budget for new and existing clients that shall be provided by consultants, engineers, construction managers, and general contractors and also from in-house Sales Representatives, Key Account Representatives and or Project Managers.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Interface with Account Mangers, Support Services, Implementation Coordinators, Project Managers and Proposal Support Department on a regular basis.Interface with Customers, Manufacturer's Representatives, Manufacturer's Technical staff, Distribution Suppliers and Supply Vendors on a regular basis.Interface with area and senior leadership to develop a win strategy and evaluate the dynamics of projects.Work with fellow application engineers providing guidance and or design aid in projects and products that are unfamiliar to them.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Develop project requirements from interviews, customer provided scope of work, site surveys, specification, pricing sheets and drawing reviews.Develop and provide detailed equipment list, electrical requirements, installation requirements and costing for turn-key security system solutions.Configure and quote proprietary Pre Fabrication of applicable access control, CCTV and other systems
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Product selection and application (to ensure the right product is used in the right application) while maintaining adherence to Securitas's product selection process and design standards.Estimate installation costs in conjunction with Implementation Operations, Service Operations, Internal Labor and External LaborReview of Field Site Survey documents and drawings.Supports the RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFM&S process as neededCreate estimates and budgets for access control, intrusion, cctv, intercom, PSIM, PLC and structured cabling systemsReview architectural, electrical, telecommunication, security engineering floor plans, riser drawings, device schedules, detail drawings, interconnect and closet layout drawings.Interpret specifications, addendums, revisions, sketches and Scope of work.Work with project managers and design engineers for creating change orders on existing and ongoing projects.Manage assigned projects and maintain deadlines for each project.Build and maintain a good relationship with coworkers, suppliers and manufacturers.Create a detailed list of clarifications, exclusions & compliance on a per project basisKnowledge of construction schedules, project meetings and how they pertain and impact the project.Able to research product information utilizing the internetExcellent working knowledge of construction industry conventionsGood understanding of work load and the requirements to maintain commitments.Ability to assemble all cost aspects of a projectAbility to recognize strategic and competitive issuesAbility to challenge labor bids from subs for various labor categories including IBEWAbility to navigate high value job environment for time lines, and compliance requirementsFirm grasp of the competitive environment and strategic plays by competitorsExcellent command and knowledge of building code requirementsADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
