About the Opportunity

The Bioengineering Department at Northeastern University is looking for a software programmer to join our NIH-funded project developing next-generation neuroimaging data formats and data sharing platforms at NeuroJSON.io. Particularly, we are looking for candidates with strong experience in developing web-based user interfaces and database backends to efficiently query and visualize scientific datasets. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with a large neuroimaging user community and will be responsible for training and coordinating between a number of open-source neuroimaging software projects.

This software programmer will be contributing to an NIH-funded neuroimaging data sharing project. The candidate is expected to lead the development of the web-based data portal (https://neurojson.io) for efficient query, processing and visualization of complex and diverse neuroimaging datasets. This software developer will also develop, improve, and maintain JSON based data file parsers, converters and utilities written in Python/MATLAB/C/C++ and integrate them with other open-source software tools. The candidate will be actively interacting with developers from diverse software projects and initiatives, and is responsible for developing training materials, running workshops, supporting, and outreach among the large research community and expand the utility of the platform.
