Job Description

Kearney and Company is currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our Arlington, VA team. The Data Engineer will develop pipelines for data acquisition and ingestion, enabling detailed data analytics using industry leading tools and capabilities. You will be part of a customer focused team developing productive working relationships with client personnel, delivering capabilities for the Department of Defense through agile methodology.Responsibilities:Create and update data pipelines and conduct data ingesting operationsQuery, discover, export, and connect dashboards/analytic models to data provided by DoD stakeholdersDevelop and translate functional data requirements to assemble datasets and program related business logicEnsure the data catalog is updated with metadata related to new data being ingested.Maintain relationships and communicate with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, and functionsDevelop and run reconciliation scripts to support customer data and use casesAdhere to management's Agile Development process, including using JIRA and Slack dailyPresent progress to senior stakeholdersBalance multiple projects concurrently

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:BA, BS or BBA degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related area and at least 2 years of relevant experienceMust have at least an active Secret clearancePrior experience as a data engineer, data architect, or data scientistExperience with using Databricks to perform data transformations or modeling (including Databricks SQL and Delta Lake)Intermediate knowledge of SQL and PythonExperience working with Accounting and Financial Management DataExperience independently evaluating controls over security processes, infrastructure, network, applications and databasesAbility to provide on-site support 3-5 days a week at the Pentagon or Mark CenterPreferred Qualifications:Data engineer or data architect certification: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, or other related designation preferredExperience with StreamSetsUnderstanding of DoD Financial Management SystemsExperience with PySparkExperience with bash scriptingExperience with ini/cfg configuration filesTS/SCI Preferred

This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
