Senior Database Administrator I

CFC has a need for a Senior Database Administrator I to join the Business Technology Services team. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work at our headquarters office in Sterling, VA, as well as optional remote workdays. The Senior Database Administrator I is fully responsible for administration of CFC's Database environments. This includes, but is not limited to:• Installing, configuring, patching, & upgrading various database systems.• Data integrity, data availability (backup and restores) and data quality.• Database Security and Data Security (Role base access / data masking in non-production environments).• Performance monitoring and tuning / optimization.• Production support for mission critical applications/databases.• Creating and maintaining SOPs, and implementing best practices.

As a Senior Database Administrator I, you will:• Install, setup, configure and maintain Relational Data Base Management System (MSSQL).• Provide technology leadership on specialized database applications efforts.• Create and update technical documentation.• Performs Database Server maintenance (SQL Server / Postgress).• Performs production support activities.• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures.• SQL database(s) patching and upgrades.

To be successful, you will need:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or the equivalent in work experience.• Minimum of eight years of database administration for MSSQL experience.• Unix, Linux or Windows experience required.• MS SQL and Cloud database experience preferred.• Demonstrate ability to design, develop and performance tune stored procedures and data transfer mechanisms (ETL).• Advanced understanding of process development.• Expert ability to construct and execute SQL, Stored Procedures and Packages.• Expert data architecture, patterns, best practices and design skills.• Excellent troubleshooting abilities.• Strong leadership abilities.• Effective collaboration and consultation skills.• Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• General finance knowledge desired.• Knowledge of these technologies is highly desired- Control-M Automation scheduler.- Power BI & MS Fabric.- Managed DB Cloud (AZURE / AWS etc.)
