IT Project Manager

Role Summary:

The project manager provides oversight and coordination for planning and execution of low- and medium-complexity software implementations and migrations for the company. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our vendors and other team members to ensure successful and timely completion of our projects. You will partner with internal and external teams and other resources and utilize industry-standard tools and best practices. A key accountability for the position will be to ensure high-priority issues are escalated appropriately and communication timely. The successful candidate for the position will also take on additional projects across our enterprise as needed. You will play a critical role in the way we deliver our projects that meet or exceed deliverables.

Responsibilities:

Drive accountability of actions across the core and extended teams.Coordinate internal and client project related activities.Establish a meeting cadence, communication plan and working norms across the teams.Report and escalate issues to management as needed to ensure project success.Manage relationships with clients, internal teams, and all stakeholders.Coordinate internal and customer facing meetings, facilitate and manage weekly status meetings.Coordinate efforts between internal teams and the customer to ensure project tasks are completed on time, within budget and within scope.Synthesize stakeholder inputs, develop, and manage project plans, shape agendas for senior leadership discussions, and hold team accountable to their commitments.Identify, document and track project risks, actions, and issues.Consistently review the project dependencies and risks to ensure these are being effectively managed across the relevant stakeholder groups.Create, maintain, and distribute project documentation.Define business cases using input from the stakeholders. Identify gains and obtain agreement on objectives, scope, timing, and resources.Plan activities/ tasks that will deliver the desired results and oversee day-to-day work and monitoring of progress toward goals.Collaborate with all teams to ensure a successful handoff between the project and the implementation and support teams.Lead client facing status meetings to communicate objectives, plans, statuses, and results clearly, focusing on key points.Perform project close out steps to include identifying lessons learned, / best practices, to inform the success of future project. Identify and apply continuous improvements methodologies throughout the project management lifecycle.Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person. Provide mentoring to less experienced staff as needed.Function as a champion for your projects, adapt and address unique challenges in collaborative and creative ways.Manage a portfolio of multiple projects with function-wide and/or company-wide impact. Examples of this might include highly technical, substantial budget, high visibility, long tail, multi-stakeholder crossing functional groups.In addition to project management, may also perform some of the work defined within the project roles and responsibilities.Job Requirements

Qualifications:

5+ proven work experience as a project manager in the field of software development and/or information technology (insurance industry experience is a major plus).Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.CAPM or PMP certification is a plus.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in parallel.Experience with project management tools (LAN Desk, Jira, ServiceNow).Previous experience as a Business Analyst is strongly preferred.Display advanced communication (verbal and written), diligence, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.Demonstrate advanced interpersonal, customer service, presentation, influencing and relationship management skills.Advance business operations knowledge to include the understanding of the insurance market is strongly preferred.Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team to meet established deadlines.Ability to apply judgement to balance process compliance with achievement of business objectives.Background in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or web technologyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.Knowledge of the insurance business process is strongly preferred.
