Description

General Description:

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for day-to-day administration of existing IT and OT infrastructure: network, servers, storage, virtualization, security, VoIP, disaster recovery, facilities. This includes managing alerts and notifications; break fix; backups and replication; consistent/regular patch management, software, and hardware upgrades; managing trouble ticket queues; and monitor performance and utilization to ensure high levels of availability and security. The Infrastructure Engineer will also be responsible for the design of new solutions automating frequent tasks. This position should embrace "continuous improvement" to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The Infrastructure Engineer is also responsible for participating in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures. Working in conjunction with others on the IT team, this individual will analyze and resolve end user hardware and software incidents and requests and provide IT team and end-user training where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage alerts, notifications, backups, performance, utilization, logs

• Day to Day administration of networks, virtual environment, storage, disaster recovery, communications, facilities

• Design, implement, train, optimize, automate, and support: networks, virtual environment, storage, disaster recovery, communications, facilities

• Design guided by principles of: "security as a forethought" and "continuous improvement"

• Consistent frequent cadence in applying patches, software upgrades, and firmware upgrades

• Support Control Engineer OT/ICS needs

• Manage endpoint and application deployment through SCCM and Intune leveraging: WMI, WQL, T-SQL, WinPE, Silent Installers, Scripting, PXE

• Manage: contracts, support and maintenance agreements, licensing, purchase requisitions, and goods receipt

• Log and track support calls and change requests in the designated ME Global systems, prioritize and escalate tickets as required to ensure customer satisfaction

• Practice network and server asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation

• Participate in Change Management

• Cross train with other infrastructure personnel for as much interchangeability as possible

• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure and maintain network and server products and services

• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and training plans for network and server resource administration, appropriate use and disaster recovery

• Conduct continuous research on all systems and standards in support of optimizing IT capabilities in addressing business requirements

• Communicate in a clear, professional and courteous manner in person, during telephone calls and in written correspondence

• Manage concurrent planned tasks around daily priorities

• Maintain the confidentiality and security of privileged company information

• Provide extended and off-hours support as required in problem or crisis situations and when necessary to achieve goals and deadlines

Requirements

Education Required:

• Minimum of a four-year college degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience

Skills Required:

• 10+ years' experience architecting, managing and supporting network and virtualization infrastructure.

• Strong technical knowledge and administrative experience with Windows Server OS 2012 or later; Active Directory 2008 or later; VMware vSphere ESX; Veeam Backup and Replication; Dell PowerVault and Compellent SAN; Fortigate firewalls; HPE/Aruba ProCurve and Aruba CX Switching; Cisco Wi-Fi; and SMTP Relay

• Strong technical knowledge and administrative experience with Azure: Entra ID, Log Analytics, AAD Connect, Azure Hybrid Join, Intune, KQL, Power Automate, Data Collection Rules, Defender for Endpoint, Conditional Access, and Cost Analysis

• Strong application of automation with: PowerShell, T-SQL, and Kusto Query Language (KQL)

• Strong technical knowledge and administration of patch management and OS deployment using WSUS and SCCM

• Strong technical knowledge of network design, wireless controllers and access points, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and OSPF

• Strong technical knowledge and support of "Operational Technology" (OT) paradigms used in Industrial Control Systems

• Continuing Education and Intellectual Curiosity: remain apprised of IT Trends, application and hardware end of life, 0-day security news

• Experience managing and supporting VOIP

• Demonstrated administrative experience with Office 365 including Azure AD Connect

• Strong written and verbal communications skills

• Ability to document network designs and processes with Microsoft Visio

• Strong interpersonal skills to work with both technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization

• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple concurrent requests

• Ability to travel to remote facilities in Minneapolis and Duluth, MN
