Responsibilities

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.Qualifications

Eight (8) years' experience with the following:Designing, architecting, and supporting both Cisco and Linux routing systemsFive (5) years' experience with the following:

Planning, designing, and analyzing LANsOverseeing the implementation and test/troublshooting activitiesReviewing and approving changes to the design and implementationDocumenting installed systemsRecommending and operating the network management and and control systems to maintain the LAN hardware and softwareWorking with operating systems and protocol such as Cisco IOS and NX-OS, Linux routing technologies, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)VMware virtualization

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA (equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Forensic Science or related fields accepted in lieu of a degree)Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, and/or Network Administration from an accredited university/college; or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related scientific/technical fieldActive Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI and polyPeraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan.Peraton Overview

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
