Position Description

Performs highly advanced computer systems analysis work in support of TxDOT District/Division information technology systems. Leads, develops, coordinates, and ensures processes and procedures are in place to effectively monitor and manage contracts. Ensures there is consistency in managing contracts and ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Oversees work involving analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Oversees technical support and advice involving the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs and/or systems. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties:

Supports the planning, design, developments, implementation, and management of PEPS Tableau and SharePoint initiatives (enterprise initiatives)Oversees the evaluation of methods, tools, hardware and software used to improve the analysis, development, integration, implementation and maintenance of information systemsOversee and/or prepare charts, diagrams, and tables that depict the present and proposed systems in terms of costs, benefits derived, and tasks accomplished.Coordinate and/or participate in the development and execution of enterprise-level strategies and technical direction, including establishing processes and procedures for executing and maintaining technology road mapsCoordinate projects that involve cross-functional agency systemsCreates new standard reports; collaborating with end users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing and validationUpdates standard operating procedures and swimlanesPresent information and keep PEPS informed of any changes/developmentsDesigns, builds, tests, implements, and maintains both published and ad hoc reports in response to customer change requestsAnalyzes new or existing procedures and information systems for efficiency and effectivenessOversees and/or prepares and defines the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programsCoordinates with users to identify system requirements, develop functional design specifications to meet requirements, and solve complex operational problemsCoordinates requests or completes user security changes or additions and facilitates security authorizations for new usersReviews and analyzes reports and performance indicators to locate problems and corrects errors in a timely mannerWrites programs and/or queries for spreadsheet or database software to create reports and import/export dataLeading projects and project teamsPerform other job responsibilities as assignedMinimum Requirements

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline

Work Experience

- *5 YEARS systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience
