Workers' Compensation Claims Assistant
working out of our main office located in Austin, Texas.
Functional Overview
Processes new claims; verifies claim information.Enters information into a computerized database.Submits written requests for medical and employment information.Answers telephone and greet visitors; provides information and assistance.Sorts and distributes mail.Coordinates filing for assigned Specialists; routes documents to Specialists for review; maintains case files.Prepares inactive files for storage.Maintains office equipment; coordinates maintenance as needed.Maintains office supply inventory; reorders as needed.Makes copies and sends and receives faxes.Performs related duties.Knowledge/Experience Required
Knowledge of modern office principles and practices.Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.Skill in the provision of customer services.Skill in decision-making and problem-solving.Skill in oral and written communication.
Education
The successful candidate will have experience commonly associated with the completion of a high school degree or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
