General Summary:

As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and encouragement to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or both. By sharing your own experiences of recovery, you will help to promote a culture of hope and resilience within our community. you assist individuals throughout the recovery process, helping them gain skills, access resources, and regain the confidence to succeed in society. A Peer Support Worker will be responsible for providing support and encouragement to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or both. You will also assist individuals throughout the recovery process, helping them gain skills, access resources, and regain the confidence to succeed in society.Provide peer support services to individuals in recovery from mental health or substance use disorders, including one-on-one mentoring, group support sessions, and advocacy.Assist individuals in developing and achieving personal wellness and recovery goals.Conducts individual and small group meetings with patients to discuss their mental health progress, needs and offer recommendations for improving treatment program and services.Assist in ensuring patients understand their rights and responsibilities, conducting patient satisfaction surveys, and addressing patient complaints by meeting privately with patients to gather information and follow up with them regarding actions taken to address their concerns.Participates in peer support activities, including support groups and small group discussions focused on positive life management skills, dealing with difficult situations upon discharge, and increasing hope.Share personal recovery stories in a manner that is supportive and inspirational to others, while maintaining professional boundaries.Facilitate connections to community resources and services, including housing, employment, education, and healthcare.Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals, to support the treatment and recovery process.Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance peer support skills.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, in accordance with program requirements and confidentiality laws.Consistent follow-up with all consumers, and as appropriate families, to promote engagement and retention in services and to ensure all barriers to service access and use are addressed.Maintain a working knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of mental health, and peer recovery services.Qualifications Licensure and Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferred.High School Diploma or equivalent required.Certification as a Peer Support SpecialistPersonal experience with behavioral health recovery (mental health and/or substance use disorders).Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or willingness to complete certification training provided by the organization.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.Demonstrated commitment to promoting a recovery-oriented system of care.Must have 2 years' clinical experience in Behavioral Health clinical setting.Proficiency with NextGen Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.Bilingual and Bi-literate Spanish/English preferred.Proficient in MS Office Suite Word, Excel, type 40 wpm.Ability to work well in a team environment, remains motivated, is self-directed, and demonstrates initiative.Top benefits or perks:
